Medical pharmacology is the branch of science that studies the effects of drugs on the human body, their mechanisms of action, and their pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties. Acting as a bridge between clinical and basic sciences, pharmacology is the fundamental source of information for the safe and effective use of drugs.
The Department of Medical Pharmacology at our hospital is active in both education and research and provides guidance supporting rational drug use.
Rational drug use counseling and training
Evaluation of drug interactions, side effects, and adverse reactions
Therapeutic drug level monitoring (TDM)
Pharmacogenetic counseling (personalized drug selection)
Pharmacological support in clinical trials
Toxicological evaluations
New drug development studies and phase studies
The unit is structured to ensure medication safety in collaboration with clinicians in the hospital and to offer the most appropriate treatment options to the patient.
The Department of Medical Pharmacology provides basic drug knowledge education to medical students, as well as:
Clinical pharmacology seminars
Case-based drug selection lessons
Toxicology and drug safety sessions
Training on pharmaceutical research and ethical rules
Scientific project consultancy and publication support
offers.
In addition, active participation is taken in committees aimed at improving drug use at the faculty level.
As the Department of Medical Pharmacology:
Encouraging effective and safe drug use,
Providing scientific contribution to clinical decision processes,
Providing academic support to drug development and trial processes,
Raising pharmacological awareness among students and physicians
We are adopting a structure.
Our goal is to increase treatment success by ensuring that the medication is used in the right patient, in the right dose and for the right duration.
