🍼 Child Newborn (Neonatology) 

General Description

The Department of Neonatology is a pediatric specialty that deals with the health monitoring, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of babies in the first 28 days after birth.

The Pediatric Neonatology Department at our hospital monitors healthy newborns and also cares for babies born prematurely, with low birth weight, those who have experienced birth trauma, or those with congenital anomalies.

Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, with its state-of-the-art infrastructure and experienced healthcare staff, offers 24-hour uninterrupted service to help babies have a strong start in life.


Services Provided

  • Premature baby care

  • Respiratory distress, birth trauma, congenital cardiovascular disorders

  • Monitoring and treatment of congenital infections

  • Treatment of neonatal jaundice (phototherapy)

  • Management of metabolic problems such as meconium aspiration syndrome and hypoglycemia

  • Newborn-specific nutritional support and follow-up

  • Breast milk support programs and breastfeeding consultancy

  • Information and psychosocial support for the family

During intensive care services, the baby's clinical course is regularly monitored, and collaboration with other disciplines (cardiology, neurology, infectious diseases, etc.) is carried out when necessary.


Education and Academic Activities

The Department of Pediatrics and Neonatology offers the following services to pediatric residents and medical students:

  • Newborn examination training

  • Emergency approach in newborns

  • Resuscitation practices

  • Monitoring and ventilator management in intensive care
    provides theoretical and practical training.

In addition, active participation in scientific research and symposiums is provided.
