Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Diseases

General Description

The Department of Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Diseases (Child Psychiatry) is a branch of medicine that evaluates the mental, emotional, social and behavioral development of the individual from birth to adolescence and diagnoses, treats and monitors mental problems.

Our hospital unit aims to support the psychological development of children and adolescents with a holistic approach, taking into account their individual characteristics; it conducts comprehensive assessments in collaboration with the family, school and community.


Services Provided

  • Diagnosis and treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder, evaluation of developmental delays

  • Anxiety disorders, phobias, separation anxiety

  • Depression, adjustment disorders, behavioral problems

  • Adolescent issues, identity development, and risky behaviors

  • Eating disorders, tic disorders, obsessive-compulsive symptoms

  • Specific learning disabilities and academic achievement problems

  • Family communication problems, parental counseling

  • Psychometric and developmental tests (WISC-R, Denver II, etc.)

The treatment process is planned with a multifaceted structure that includes individual therapy, family counseling, medication, and school collaboration.


Education and Academic Activities

Our department offers medical school students and physicians undergoing specialization training:

  • Child psychiatric examination methods

  • Psychopathology education according to developmental periods

  • Child abuse, trauma and crisis management issues

  • Clinical case presentations, case discussions

  • Scientific research and publication support
    offers.

Additionally, contributions are made to school-based mental health projects and community awareness activities.

Our aim is to provide reliable, scientific and compassionate support to children and young people so that they can continue their spiritual development in a healthy way.
