Gastroenterology

General Description

Gastroenterology is a subspecialty of internal medicine that diagnoses, treats and monitors diseases of the digestive system organs (esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, liver, bile ducts and pancreas).

The Department of Gastroenterology at our hospital performs many endoscopic procedures, both diagnostic and therapeutic, with its well-equipped infrastructure and experienced team supported by advanced imaging and interventional procedures.


Services Provided

  • Stomach diseases such as reflux, gastritis, ulcers

  • Inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease

  • Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), constipation and diarrhea problems

  • Monitoring and treatment of liver diseases such as hepatitis B, C and cirrhosis

  • Gallbladder and pancreas diseases

  • Diagnosis of polyps and tumors of the esophagus, stomach, and intestines

  • Endoscopic procedures: Gastroscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy, biopsy

  • Endoscopic bleeding control, balloon dilatation and PEG applications

All procedures are performed under sterile conditions, under sedation, and with a patient-specific plan.


Education and Academic Activities

The Department of Gastroenterology contributes to the internal medicine specialization training process while also providing medical students with comprehensive training in the evaluation of digestive system diseases.

  • Representation at national gastroenterology congresses
    is actively carried out.
