Geriatrics is a subspecialty of internal medicine that focuses specifically on the health, functional status, quality of life, and care needs of older individuals (generally aged 65 and over). It offers a holistic approach to addressing conditions that arise with aging, such as multiple diseases, medication use, and cognitive and physical function losses.
The Department of Geriatrics at our hospital offers a multidisciplinary approach by considering the medical evaluation of elderly individuals not only from a disease-focused perspective but also in terms of functional independence, social support, psychological status and quality of life.
