Definition

Urethral stricture is the restriction of urine flow due to narrowing of the urethral lumen.

Symptoms

  • Weak urine stream
  • Frequent urination
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Urinary retention

Reasons

Infection, trauma, urethral catheterization.

Diagnosis

Uroflowmetry, urethrography, cystoscopy.

Treatment

Urethral dilation, urethrotomy, surgical repair.
