Definition

Ureteral stones are hard masses consisting of mineral and salt accumulations settled in the ureter.

Symptoms

  • Severe flank pain
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Blood in the urine
  • Frequent urination

Reasons

Inadequate fluid intake, diet, genetic factors.

Diagnosis

Ultrasound, CT, urinalysis.

Treatment

Painkillers, lithotripsy (ESWL), ureteroscopy.
