Definition

Sarcoidosis is a multisystem disease characterized by the formation of small clusters of inflammatory cells called granulomas in various organs of the body.

Symptoms

  • Cough, shortness of breath
  • Eye inflammation
  • Skin lesions
  • Fatigue

Reasons

Unknown, genetic predisposition and environmental triggers.

Diagnosis

Chest X-ray/CT, biopsy, ACE level.

Treatment

Corticosteroids, immunosuppressives.
