Definition

A perianal fistula is an abnormal tunnel formation between the anal canal and the perianal skin.

Symptoms

  • Recurrent perianal abscess
  • Stream
  • Pain
  • Irritation

Reasons

Infection of anal crypt glands, Crohn's disease.

Diagnosis

Physical examination, MRI, fistulography.

Treatment

Surgery (fistulotomy, seton placement).
