Definition

Molar pregnancy is a trophoblastic disease characterized by uncontrolled growth of abnormal placental tissue.

Symptoms

  • Severe nausea and vomiting
  • Vaginal bleeding
  • The uterus is large compared to the week of pregnancy
  • Hypertension

Reasons

Chromosomal abnormalities, maternal age.

Diagnosis

Beta-hCG, ultrasound, pathological examination.

Treatment

Curettage, chemotherapy, follow-up.
