Definition
Craniopharyngioma is a tumor that develops near the pituitary gland and is usually benign but has a space-occupying effect.
Symptoms
- Headache
- Visual field loss
- Pituitary hormone deficiencies
- Growth failure (in children)
Reasons
It originates from embryonal remnants.
Diagnosis
Brain MRI or CT, hormone tests.
Treatment
Surgical resection, radiotherapy.
