Definition

Short QT syndrome is an inherited ion channel disease characterized by shortened ventricular repolarization and a risk of malignant arrhythmias.

Symptoms

  • Palpitation
  • dizziness
  • Syncope
  • sudden cardiac death

Reasons

Potassium channel gene mutations.

Diagnosis

ECG, genetic testing.

Treatment

ICD implantation, quinidine.
