Definition

It is a disease caused by stomach acid and its contents leaking back into the esophagus.

Symptoms

  • Burning sensation in the chest
  • Bitter-sour liquid coming into the mouth
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Burping

Relaxation of the lower esophageal sphincter, hiatal hernia, obesity.

Endoscopy, pH meter measurement.
