Definition

Epistaxis, also known as nosebleeds, is the bleeding from the vessels inside the nose.

Symptoms

  • Bleeding from the nose
  • Bleeding from the nose or throat
  • Weakness
  • dizziness

Reasons

Trauma, hypertension, bleeding disorders, dry air.

Diagnosis

Physical examination, endoscopy, blood tests.

Treatment

Applying pressure, cauterization, tamponade.
