The Reproductive Medicine and Surgery Association (ÜTCD) Kahramanmaraş Regional Meeting was held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, hosted by Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University Faculty of Medicine Hospital.
The meeting, held in the Ground Floor Conference Hall of the KSÜ Faculty of Medicine Hospital, was organized under the leadership and with the significant contributions of Prof. Dr. Alev Özer, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at KSÜ Faculty of Medicine. Bringing together prominent figures in the field of reproductive medicine and surgery in Kahramanmaraş, the event comprehensively addressed infertility, assisted reproductive techniques, IVF applications, reproductive surgery, and current treatment approaches.
Prof. Dr. Alev Özer, who played a significant role in organizing the meeting and creating the scientific program, also actively participated in the scientific sessions, contributing to the program. The meeting, which allowed experienced academics in the field to share their knowledge and experience, was an important gathering for developing scientific studies and academic collaborations in the field of reproductive health in Kahramanmaraş.
The meeting was attended by numerous academics and specialist physicians, including leading figures in the field of reproductive medicine and surgery such as Prof. Dr. Recai Pabuçcu, Prof. Dr. Turan Çetin, and the 2nd President of the Reproductive Medicine and Surgery Association, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Erdem.
The first session of the scientific program covered topics such as basic infertility assessment and necessary tests, interpretation of hysterosalpingography and imaging techniques, monofollicular development with oral agents and gonadotropins, and management of abnormal uterine bleeding.
In the "Reproductive Surgery" panel held within the scope of the program, clinical conditions such as isthmocele, hydrosalpinx, T-shaped uterus, uterine septum, and thin endometrium were discussed within the framework of current scientific approaches. Experienced academics in the field, including Prof. Dr. Recai Pabuçcu and Prof. Dr. Turan Çetin, shared their knowledge and clinical experience with the participants.
The afternoon sessions focused on patient selection in IVF, individualized ovarian hyperstimulation, current approaches in embryo transfer, and non-traditional IVF strategies. The final session addressed pre-IVF surgeries that improve success, enhancing IVF success from an embryologist's perspective, IVF management in cases of endometriosis and adenomyosis, and current approaches to recurrent pregnancy loss and implantation failure, all evaluated in light of scientific data.
The Kahramanmaraş Regional Meeting of the Turkish Medical Association (UTCI), which attracted attention with its rich scientific content, brought together academics and physicians from different centers to share up-to-date information, exchange clinical experiences, and strengthen scientific collaborations.
