Patient Rights Day was celebrated in our hospital

Various events were held at our hospital to commemorate Patient Rights Day, October 26th. Patient rights are defined as the rights that individuals in need of healthcare services possess simply by virtue of their humanity, and are guaranteed by the Turkish Constitution, international agreements, laws, and other legislation.

In 1998, the Patient and Relative Rights Association (HAYAD) designated October 26th as Patient Rights Day. The purpose of this special day is to highlight patient rights and raise public awareness. The primary purpose of observing October 26th as Patient Rights Day in Turkey is to protect the rights of individuals receiving healthcare services and to raise public awareness on this issue.

In this context, our hospital's Patient Rights Unit and Education Coordination Department organized an awareness program on "Patient Rights and Responsibilities." Acting Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Metin KILIÇ; Deputy Chief Physician responsible for the Patient Rights Unit Prof. Dr. Selma ATEŞ; and Hospital Director Nevzat İNAL attended the program.

At the event, information was provided about patient rights and responsibilities, brochures were distributed to patients and their families, and refreshments were served. Additionally, as part of our hospital's educational program, a training session titled "Patient Rights and Responsibilities" was held for our staff and students on October 10, 2025.

As our hospital, we will continue to work with determination to protect patient rights, raise awareness among patients and their families, and strengthen ethical values in healthcare services.
